fashion references: Jane bowler :)

fashion references: Ara Jo ....! amazing designer

Final say ! :)

Overall i really enjoyed my 2 week project ,although i didnt grasp it at the beginning i felt i learnt a lot and i liked the process of how a outfit is designed. I would like to consider it for ranking as it was very rewarding when all the hard work is over.

bye. :)

My FiNaL lInE-Up!!!

I really enjoyed playing around with the two shapes and compining them together to make an outfit. My final line-ups consisted of a particular theme( party/hippish). I was impressed with its outcome and i was very happy with the colours i picked:

ColOuR sChEmE:

I liked the colours i picked for my line up , i feel they worked well with my chosen outfits. They made the clothes more funky, exciting and fresh.

I think my outfits looked very superhero like and strange but i was happy with their outcome in the end.

Experimenting with my second shape using cotton and leather! :)

My second shape worked quite well for me as it was very versatile and i found my material was perfect for the design.

This was my chosen shape from my experimentation on the croquis.

Experimenting with my first chosen shape ! paper & felt

This is a documentation of my experimentation with my first shape:
Paper experimentation:

This was one of my chosen shapes for my final line up.

I enjoyed experimenting with felt on the mannequin as it layed quite well on the body and it was easy to cut out and fold. These are several outcomes of the material.

I particularly liked this version of the shape .It was a perfect abstract shape for a skirt.

Here i combined the two shapes together to make a dress like shape. I felt the folding and twisting of this shape worked very well and i do not think any other material would have worked as well as the felt.

Week 2 :)

This week i began to understand  a lot more about the fashion concept. I lost my way a bit at the beginning but then i focused more on my two particular shapes and stretched them to its full extent. I experimented on the mannequins with different types of fabric
The fabric i chose was:
Red Felt : Medium weight
Black leather : Heavy weight
White cotton : Light weight.
I really enjoyed this and i found so many ways of laying fabric on the body. I realised that my shapes looked so much more interesting when they were twisted and folded over as they were quite linear. I was facinated by the shapes i created on the croquis and i was looking forward to doing my line up.
For my colour scheme i picked bright illuminous colours from a image in a  modern furniture book.
As iam a quite colourful person i experimented with colours like bright pinks, blues, yellows, greens and oranges.

Progress : Week one :)

These are the two images i found from a modern furniture book i found in the library :

From these images i created many shapes and designs for clothing. I drew out some croquis and drew out the shapes and designs on them . It was very interesting to see the various shapes you can create from a certain object.

Later on in the week i started experimenting on the mannequins, this allowed me to broaden my outlook on my chosen shape. I placed the paper cut outs on various parts of the body. I used coloured paper and a blade to create the shapes i found within the chair. I laid and folded them on to certain parts of the body with pins . This was a very enjoyable exercise

Later on in the week the tutor showed us how to drape materials on to the body and draw it out. this was very enjoyable. me and 3 other girls brought in our own materials to drape on the mannequin and then we drew out the folds and curves on the body.
