Inspiration and Influence: Lynn Aldrich and The Pompedou centre

My new pathway: Abstract sculptures :)

I gathered a load of pipes from the hardware store and i cut them all in different lengths and stuck them all together using griffon glue. I spray painted them first but then i painted over them. They were stored in a damp place so it was hard for it to dry so it didnt come out as well as i hoped, so next time i make another one of these sculptures i will not paint them.   :)

This was a cast i made by printing pipes into the surface of clay and pouring some cast over it and leaving it to dry , giving it this 3d effect. i was very happy with its result and how it was made. However i do not think it would be a dicipline i would want to go on with but iam happy i tried this process out. I like the print and design it created in the clay.

progress so far: :)

This week I attended a textile workshop, i found this very enjoyable. The tutors showed us all different techniques of creating textures and designs. I found that a lot of the techniques they showed us related somewhat to the work iam doing. This week i decided to focus in mainly on the shape and design of certain pipes. In my sketch book I recreated these designs using various materials. This was very enjoyable as it helped me to explore the different ways of doing things. I used materials such as paper, card, plastic and cloth.

I made a proto type also of a certain design at the end of a pipe. I rnjoyed experimenting with the different materials and i hope to do more of this research in the weeks to come.  :) x
